Virginia’s high psychological health official has died from accidents he suffered in a three-car crash through which an 18-year-old lady was killed.
Gov. Ralph Northam spokeswoman Alena Yarmosky stated on Friday that the household of 52-year-old Dr. S. Hughes Melton notified the governor of his dying. Melton was commissioner of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
Northam stated, “Not solely was Dr. Melton a loyal public servant and doctor, I thought of him a good friend.”
Virginia State Police say Melton’s automotive on Wednesday bumped a automotive in entrance of him on State Route 254, crossed the middle line and collided head-on with a automotive pushed by Hailey Green of Staunton. Green was pronounced lifeless on the scene.
State police stated the motive force of the third automotive wasn’t injured.
